CPL English Language Assessment Programmes
CPL is able to offer two distinct types of English Language Assessment
The Online Placement Test, and the General English 4-Skills examination system. These are designed specifically for international adult learners.
The Online Placement Test is a quick and efficient method of assessing a candidate's current language competency. It takes 50 minutes to answer 100 multiple choice questions online. Results are available immediately, and the accuracy of assessing a learner's level is very high. The test is accredited by the World Association of Online Learning.
CPL General English is a 4-skills examination system that tests adult learners' reading, listening, writing and speaking abilities. All four skills can be taken consecutively, or as individual skill components, depending on the needs of the learner. For example, a learner who spends much of his or her time on the telephone, may only require testing in speaking and listening skills.
There are 3 levels: 1, 2 and 3. CPL General English tests are the only internationally accredited work-based English tests created for complete beginners upwards. They are also recognised as partial preparation for IELTS and equivalent examinations. This is a natural progression for those who have passed Level 3.
