This is a course for employees whose job role involves them in manual handling operations. How to safely engage in human physical effort that is expended to move or hold a load, including pushing, pulling, lifting, carrying, picking up or putting down, holding or balancing - is what this course is all about
Course Overview
To enable compliance with the Manual Handling Regulations 1992, this course is aimed at any person who engages in any form of manual handling as part of their daily duties. The course includes:
- Legislation relating to manual handling
- Anatomy and physiology of the spine
- Manual handling, associated injuries and statistics
- Understanding and practise of safe principles of manual handling
- Assessment of manual handling operations and reducing risks where possible
- Practical manual handling techniques
Who should take this qualification?
Anyone who carries out manual handling (lifting or moving objects/equipment) in their job.
What preparation do I need before taking the course?
Please dress in flat, comfortable shoes and wear loose clothing as you will be carrying out several practical exercises during the course.
Assessment: Multiple choice question examination.
Duration: ½ day.

Course Fees: £600 + VAT for a maximum of 12 learners (£50 per person). We will come to your venue to provide this training.
