Award in Supervising Food Safety in Catering Level 3
This award is designed for supervisors or food handlers within the catering and hospitality sector. It is for supervisors who are responsible for implementing processes and procedures to ensure that food safety principles and practices are adhered to.
Course Overview
Upon completion of this course learners will have a clear understanding of:
- Compliance with food safety regulations
- Implementation of safety regulations
- Food safety management procedures
- Controlling hazards and supervising good practice
Who should take this qualification?
Chefs, cooks and bar staff who work within a kitchen or food led environment or those aspiring to become a supervisor in one of those areas.
Do I need any other qualifications before I take this one?
Yes, you really should have either a Level 2 qualification in Food Safety or a Level 1 qualification in Food Hygiene.
Do I need a refresher course?
It is recommended that you do one every three years.
Does this qualification mean I can train staff?
No. They must be trained by tutors from RSPH recognised centres.
Assessment: Multiple choice question examination
Duration: 3 days.
