FAQ’s
Why do I need a qualification in underage sales prevention?
The advent of test purchasing by Trading Standards and the police is the biggest threat to your Premises Licence to emerge in recent years. It is vital that all staff selling or serving alcohol should be equipped with the knowledge and skills needed to identify underage purchasers and to refuse service to them. Putting your staff through the EDI Level 2 AUASP is the best way to demonstrate due diligence to the authorities.
Why take the EDI AUASP rather than the BIIAB Award in Responsible Alcohol Retailing (ARAR)?
The EDI AUASP is a Level 2 qualification whereas the BIIAB ARAR is a Level 1 qualification. Also, the EDI Level 2 AUASP is more generic – it covers all age-restricted products, not just alcohol and tobacco.
