Thresher NCPLH training hits one thousand

The UK’s leading independent drinks retailer, the Thresher Group, has announced the completion of personal licence training for its 1,000th member of staff, the culmination of an 18-month partnership with leading training provider, CPL Training.

Philip Loring, head of Thresher Central Operations and CPL Training Chairman, Paul Chase met 1,000th candidate, Chloe Ayers, at the Thresher store in St Albans store to personally congratulate her, marking the occasion with a celebratory bottle of champagne.

Paul Chase, CPL Training Chairman said: “This is a real landmark that illustrates the excellent working relationship between CPL Training and Thresher. Our skills, experience and understanding of the licensed-retail sector, and the expert delivery of our flagship qualification, the National Certificate for Personal Licence Holders (NCPLH), has enabled us to meet all of the criteria established by Thresher at the outset.”

The collaboration between the two organisations was established in 2006 with the aim of  consolidating Thresher’s training activity, ensuring that relevant team members could access personal licence training quickly, and at venues local to their stores.

CPL Training is the UK’s largest licensed-retail training provider, and currently operates 54 training venues throughout England and Wales from which the NCPLH is available. A further 14 venues have recently been opened in Scotland from which the new Scottish personal licence course will be delivered.

Our partnership with CPL has proved to be very successful, enabling us to concentrate on the recruitment of staff in the knowledge that CPL can deliver a consistent, high quality training package throughout the UK.
