CPL Training was formed in 1990 to provide training for prospective licensees to obtain their Justice's Licence. We soon became involved in providing help and advice to people seeking opportunities in the hospitality sector.
In 2004 our growth in staff and clients resulted in a move to bigger premises in Birkenhead at Egerton House. The move also enabled us to deliver training courses from our offices.
Sector expertise
For most of our commercial existence we have designed and taught our own training courses and qualifications. In 2001 CPL began working with the London Chamber of Commerce and Industry Examinations Board (LCCIEB) on a nationally recognised licensing qualification to be contained in the National Qualifications Framework.
We continue to work with LCCIEB, now Education Development International (EDI), in the development of a range of licensed retail and other qualifications. CPL has diversified in terms of the training and qualifications available. In 2007 we expanded into other sectors, including care and energy, joining forces with other awarding bodies, such as Edexcel, the Royal Society for Public Health and Ascentis.
We also developed a strong presence internationally, providing both training and testing solutions for corporate customers.
Always keen to innovate, CPL has recently been instrumental in developing an online training course and qualification for new entrants into the hospitality sector with Sky TV and Cask Marque.
